Nancy C. Brady

Nancy C. Brady, 74, of Shillington, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her devoted family on Saturday, June 12, 2021. In September, she would have celebrated her 53rd wedding anniversary with her loving husband, Steven D. Brady. Born in Reading, Nancy was the eldest of the six children of the late Nelson and Jean (Kowalski) DiLallo.

She graduated from Central Catholic in 1964.

Nancy was the loving matriarch of her family. She was social and warm, and loved to cook. She was especially happy when friends and family gathered in her home. Christmas Eve was her favorite holiday to celebrate with family, and always included the Italian tradition of the Feast of the Seven Fishes.

She worked at the Governor Mifflin School District for many years, retiring from her role as a teacher's aide in 2017. She remained as a student government advisor even after her official retirement, a role she proudly held for over 30 years. Her involvement with student government expanded beyond the walls of Governor Mifflin, and took her to conferences not only in Pennsylvania, but across the United States. Through her advisory role with the Gov. Mifflin SGA, Nancy was honored by President George H.W. Bush as a Points of Lights awardee. Perhaps her favorite SGA activity was coordinating with Penn State University to create the Mini-THON at Gov. Mifflin, which raised funds to fight childhood cancer. After retirement, Nancy enjoyed volunteering with the Sisters of the Precious Blood. She was honored to be named an official Associate of their order.

Deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, Nancy was dedicated to the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood.

Nancy's memory will be treasured by her husband, Steven; their children: Matthew S. (Amy) Brady of Pittsburgh; Heather B. (Matthew H.) Clark of Pittsburgh; and Kyle Brady (Eleonora Zhanyshova) of Dubai; and grandchildren: Emily and Katie Clark and Liam and Tag Brady. Nancy is also survived by her siblings: Michael (Leticia) DiLallo; Nelson (Terry) DiLallo; Jo DiLallo (Ralph Kreider); John DiLallo (Tammy Magee); and Mark DiLallo; and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy's family asks that contributions in her memory be offered to the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood, P.O. Box 97, Reading, PA 19607.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 3 pm until 7 pm at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading PA 19611.
