Nancy B. Zweig

Nancy B. Zweig, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2026, in her residence at the Highlands of Wyomissing. She was the widow of Gerd "Gary" C. Zweig, who passed away on May 4, 2023, after 68 loving years of marriage.

She was born in Lansdale to the late Charles A. and Mary (Barlow) Bateman. She graduated from the West Chester State Teacher's College in 1952. Once her children were grown, she pursued higher education, ultimately graduating from Columbia University in 1982 with her Doctorate of Education. Nancy worked for several years as a nurse practitioner in family practice before accepting a position as
Associate Professor of Nursing at Mount St. Mary College of Newburgh, NY, where she taught for over 15 years before her retirement. Nancy was very proud of her accomplishments throughout her career.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother with an incredible drive to care for others. She was well known for her wicked, dry sense of humor. Nancy had a polished style and a scarf fit for every occasion or outfit.
"That's interesting," was a common indicator of her opinion.

Left to treasure her memory is her son, Steven Zweig, husband of Maryjo, of Denver, CO; grandchildren: Clare Zweig (John Farley), Ian Zweig (Dr. Nia Pellone), Patrick Zweig, Kaylee
Utko, Zoey Utko, Arielle Falcone, Andrew Falcone, and James Falcone; and great grandson, Felix Pellone Zweig. Nancy is also survived by her nephew, Jeff Thomas (Lisa), and great niece, Hannah Thomas.

In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Leigh Zweig, and sister, Janice Thomas.

Contributions in Nancy's memory may be offered to Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) Chapter BC, checks payable to PEO Chapter BC, send to the attention of: May Kominick, 5001 Stony Run, Reading, PA 19606.
