N. Roger Miller

N. Roger Miller, 88 of Hamburg went home to God peacefully at home on Thursday, September 20, 2018. Roger was the husband of his loving wife, Angela. Roger was born in Pemberton, NJ. and was the son of Anna (Halasz) Grover and grew up and worked on his family's blueberry farm until entering the U.S. Navy and serving during the Korean War. After that, he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served as a Staff Sergeant. Roger worked as a Flight Training Administrator at McGuire AFB 21 st DOT until his retirement in 1988. Roger was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hamburg and was a member of its Holy Name Society. Roger loved nature and enjoyed hunting, fishing and hiking in the woods and mountains. He was an avid reader and extremely proficient in whatever he did. He built his home in Presidential Lakes, NJ. doing the entire construction by himself. In addition to his wife of 44 years, Roger is survived by six children, Grace Chinoy (Don), Roger Miller (Elise), Jaci Todd (Jim) Mary Burnell, Tom Maguire (Valentina), Renee Van Erp (Chris), ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Roger is also survived by a brother, Chuck Miller (Linda), sisters, Jeanette Hannett (Charles), Peggy Seitz (Bill) and Iris Piraino and predeceased by brothers, Billy, Buddy and Russell Grover. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg, with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
