Myrtle L. Reber

Myrtle L. (Schlappich) Reber, 93, of Reading, passed away January 24, 2021, at Penn State Health St. Joseph Hospital.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Harvey Lerch in 1959 and her second husband, Raymond Reber, Sr. in 1968.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Bricker) Schlappich.

She was employed by Herman Oritsky Men's Clothing Company as a sewing machine operator.

A true fighter with a giant spirit to match Myrtle was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother; her friendly personality, caring nature and love of her family will be greatly missed.

She is survived by one brother, Larry, husband of Della Schlappich, Monroe, NC; one grandson, Richard, husband of Cathy Lerch; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Myrtle was predeceased by her son, James L. Lerch, Sr. and her grandson James L. Lerch, Jr. husband of Christine Lerch.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 29, 2021, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 5153 Kutztown Rd., Temple with services to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
