Myrtle Ruth Eiler

Myrtle Ruth (Gruber) Eiler, 84, of 1 Florin Avenue, Muhlenberg Township, died September 28th at 6:00 am in ManorCare Health Services, Muhlenberg Township, where she had been since Saturday.

She was the wife of Robert Edward Eiler.

Born in Dauberville, Centre Township, she was the daughter of the late W. Augustus and Bessie M. (Spohn) Gruber.

She was a 1938 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Eiler worked for a number of years in the cafeteria for the Muhlenberg School District.

She later worked as a salesperson for LDC, Reading for a number of years until her retirement in 1975.

Eiler was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale.

She is also survived by a daughter, Sharon E. (Eiler) Glase of Kenhorst.

Other survivors include a granddaughter, Stephine G. (Glase) Griffith of Wyomissing and a great granddaughter, Ashley M. Griffith, of Wyomissing.

Services will be Saturday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Viewings Friday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Saturday 9:30 - 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. Contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, 1009 Elizabeth Avenue, Laureldale, Pa 19605.
