Myrtle P. Corwin, 91, of Shillington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Alfred L. Moatz, who passed away in 1994.
Born in Reading to the late Clarence and Irene (Gross) Hess, Myrtle attended Reading High School.
She was a life-long member of Park Road Presbyterian Church, formerly known as First Presbyterian Church. She was devoted to her church, singing in the choir, volunteering with the youth group, and Sunday school over the years.
Myrtle worked primarily as a bookkeeper for several area auto parts businesses, food service at several area school districts, food service at Reading Phillies Stadium, and Kathryn's Catering. She also babysat for many years, caring for many children, including her beloved grandchildren.
Left to treasure her memory are her children: Linda Jones, fiancé of Dale Weiler, of Muhlenberg; Elaine, wife of Ronald Rutkowski, of Kutztown; Kelly Ann, wife of Raymond Roeder, of Shillington; and Marsha Pingitore of Temple; stepson, Alfred, husband of Debbie Moatz, of West Lawn; grandchildren: Kristi, wife of Angel Rivera; Kerri, wife of Samuel Heck; Danielle Pingitore; Ashley, wife of Christopher Swope; Alyssa, wife of Joshua Bogert; Julian Pingitore; Michael Moatz; and Rachel, wife of Gregory Brizek; great-grandchildren: Penelope, Eleanor, Sophia, Mariah, Liliana, Cora, Callie, Adley, and Gabriella; and her godson, John Kramer.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alfred, Myrtle was predeceased by her former spouse, Wilbur Corwin, and her siblings, Ralph Hess, Elizabeth Cunnius, William Hess, Rodney Hess, Earl Hess, Clarence Hess, Louise Adams, and Marie Ludwig.

A viewing and funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Park Road Presbyterian Church, 1045 N Park Road, Wyomissing, PA 19610, with committal to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. and will be followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m., both being held at Park Road Presbyterian Church. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
