Muriel F. Dietrich, 91, passed away November 10, 2011, in her daughter Arlene's residence, after a fifty-six year battle with cancer.
Her husband, Edward J. Dietrich, passed away on April 30, 2006.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Florence (Smith) Orth.
She was a graduate of Frankford High School, Philadelphia in 1937.
Muriel was the owner/operator of Pink Poodle Gift Shop, Drexel Hill; later she was employed by Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital retiring in 1978. Most recently, she enjoyed working with her daughters at Adam Art LLC.
She was a Girl Scout Leader for 12 years in Drexel Hill.
Muriel was a former member of St. John the Divine, Sun City, FL and was affiliated with St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mohnton.
She loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them sharing stories.
Muriel is survived by her two daughters, Carole D., wife of Frederick Jacoby, Muhlenberg Twp.; and Arlene D. Miller, companion of Christopher Harvey, Shillington. There are four grandchildren, Barbara (Jacoby), wife of Tony DeLeon; Frederick, husband of Andrea (Hinton) Jacoby; Derek, husband of Pam (Weinhold) Miller; and Christopher "Toph", husband of Bethany (Macrina) Miller. Six great-grandchildren, David and Sarah DeLeon; Benjamin and Caleb Jacoby; and Audrey and Ian Miller also survive her.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, with a Memorial Service to follow at 11.
