Muriel Mary Bachner

Muriel Mary Bachner, 98, of West Lawn, passed away October 28, 2018, at the Reading Hospital.

She was the widow of Joel Bachner, a WWII veteran, whom she married on February 12. 1944, and celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late John and Isabel (Altman) Vanek.

She worked as a seamstress, bookkeeper and court stenographer.

Muriel is survived by three children, Bette (Charles) Kertell, Barbara (Theodore) Folkman and Roger (Teresa) Bachner; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, November 2, 2018, at 1 p.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Vision Resources Center of Berks County, 2020 Hampden Blvd., Reading, PA 19604.
