Monica M. Zawaski

Monica Madeleine (Delewski) Zawaski, 71, of Exeter Township, died July 3, 2009 in Berkshire Center, Exeter Township, where she had been a resident since May, 2001.

She was the widow of Donald Francis Zawaski who died December 5, 1985.

Born Ocotober 24, 1937 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late George Anthony and Genevieve Eva (Jablonski) Delewski.

Monica was employed as a clerk in the candy department at Boscov's Department Store, retiring in 2001.

She was a member of St. Margaret's R.C. Church, Reading.

She was an avid bingo player and a racing fan.

Surviving are four children, Robert G., husband of Charlene B. (Benson) Zawaski of St. Lawrence; Regina A. (Zawaski), wife of Keith A. Schellhammer of Exeter Township; Brian G., husband of Amy B. (Trevorrow) Zawaski of Rockaway, NJ and Kevin D. Zawaski of Reading.

In addition, there is a sister, Grace Theresa (Delewski), widow of Theodore Galczynski of Wernersville.

Other survivors include six grandsons and a great grandson.

Monica was predeceased by two sisters, Marie Shirley (Delewski) Golowski and Gloria Eva (Delewski) DiBlasi.

Prayer services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Muhlenberg Township. A viewing will be held from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
