Monica V. Zaorski

Monica V. Zaorski, 87, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Reading Hospital. She was the widow of the late Richard N. Zaorski, Sr.

Born in Trevorton, PA, she was the youngest of the 17 children born to the late Alexander and Agnes (Ziemba) Lascoskie. Monica graduated from Reading Catholic High School, Class of 1953. She was employed as a clerk in the insurance industry until her retirement in 1995.

A member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Monica was a loving, dedicated mother and devoted grandmother, often babysitting. Her children and grandchildren will especially remember her enthusiasm for baking, particularly her chocolate chip cookies. She loved going to the beach.

She is survived by her children: Joseph Zaorski, husband of Jodi, of Reading and Suzanne Mahajan, wife of Anand of Lancaster; grandchildren: Asha Gorasia, wife of Chirag of Basking Ridge, NJ; Kyle Zaorski, husband of Paige, of Philadelphia; Anjali Murphy, wife of Ryan of Parkersburg, WV; Alex Mahajan of Lancaster; Andrew Mahajan, husband of Tycherika of Mount Joy, PA; and Adam Zaorski of Reading; and two great-grandchildren, Aria and Clyde.

Monica was predeceased by her children, Richard Zaorski, Jr. and Debra Zaorski.

There will be a viewing from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's RCC, 250 S. 12th Street, Reading, PA ,19602. Friends and family are invited to gather at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's RCC at the above address.
