Monica Evins

Monica Byers Evins passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, December 11, 2025, at the age of 79. She was the wife of Edward E. Evins. They shared 57 wonderful years together.

Born in Teaneck, NJ, to Eleanor Maguire Byers and Irvin Milner Byers, she was the youngest of six children. She was raised in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, and attended Hasbrouck Heights High School.

Residing in Exeter, PA, Monica had a successful career as an Institutional Sales Associate in the Capital Markets Industry and held various professional distinctions.

Monica was an avid reader, loved the Yankees, and the Arts. She tackled home improvement projects, eager to roll up her sleeves, and took immense pride in her self-made results. Later in life, she enthusiastically picked up the hobby of rock hounding and the art of lapidary work, including tumbling, cutting, and polishing all types of beautiful stones herself.

While Monica valued her independence and cherished time for quiet reflection, her greatest joy and pride came from her beloved family. Her roles as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adoring grandmother were her most cherished titles.

In addition to her parents, Monica was predeceased by four siblings, Mary Ann Reuter, Eleanor "Sis" Anderson, John "Jack" Byers, and Michael Byers. She is survived by her husband, Edward Evins; her children, Nancy Schreck (Thomas) and Brian Evins; her grandchildren, Anna Kate, William, and James "Jay" Schreck; her brother, David Byers (Patricia); and many loving nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held to honor Monica's life.

Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc, West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
