Mitchell David Kershner, 51, died November 2, 2008 in his Laureldale residence.
He was the companion of Nancy Carol Boone, with whom he resided.
Born October 11, 1957 in Philadelphia, he was a son to Genie Marie (Berger) Kershner, a resident at Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the late Lionel Frederick Kershner.
Mitchell was a 1975 graduate of Reading High School.
He was employed by Lentz Milling Company, Reading as a driver's assistant for 30 years, last working Friday.
Mitch was a life member of 1900 Beneficial Association and Ivy Leaf Association, both in Reading. He was also a member of several other organizations.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Yankees, and Racing Fan.
Also surviving is a brother, Lee Jay, husband of Peggy M. (Ronky) of Exeter Township and two sisters, Lori Ann (Kershner), wife of Marlyn K. Jefferson of Akron, Lancaster County and Rhonda Lynn Kershner of Reading.
In addition there are two uncles, Gerald Kershner of Nazareth and Luther Berger of Bethlehem, and an aunt Audrey L. Kershner of Allentown.
There are also three nephews and a niece surviving.
Services will be Friday at 7 p.m. in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
