Mira Ihas, 85, formerly of West Reading, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, in the care of Reading Hospital. Born in Vukovar, Croatia, Mira was the daughter of the late Petar and Rozina (Rubrich) Baric.
While living in Europe, Mira worked as a teacher, instructing young pupils in a variety of subjects, including German. In December 1969, Mira immigrated to the United States with her family and settled on 2nd Street in Reading before purchasing a home in West Reading.
Mira was a loving mother who treasured time spent with her daughters. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could see the bright side of any situation. She was a very kind woman who loved animals and took joy in tending to her garden. She enjoyed crosswords, knitting, and reading.
Left to treasure Mira's memory are: her children, Marina Kovacevic of Sinking Spring, Silvana Ihas of Reading, and Milenko Zerazic of Sremska Mitrozica, Serbia; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mira was predeceased by her brother, Ivan Baric, who is survived by his son, Petar Baric of Germany.
A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
