Mildred Gene Schonely

Mildred Gene (Levengood) Schonely, 88, of Douglas Township, died May 8, 2014 in Phoenixville Hospital.

She was the wife of David A. Schonely, Sr., whom she married February 3, 1969.

Born August 24, 1925 in Boyertown, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Florence (Weidner) Levengood.

Mildred was a 1943 graduate of Amity High School.

She was employed as a nurse's aide with Pennhurst Center for 7 years and Leader Home In Pottstown for 15 years.

Mildred was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Douglassville.

She enjoyed her family, reading, gardening, teaching Sunday school and being a member of the Topps group at the church.

Also surviving is her son, Alan Weiss of Oley Township; her daughter, Linda Weiss of Texas; her step-sons David A., Jr., husband of Jan Schonely of Arizona; stepdaughters, Diane (Schonely), wife of Charles Snyder of Mississippi, Debbie Schonely of Pottstown and Denise (Schonely), wife of Joseph Landis of Boyertown; her brother, Clarence Levengood, Jr. of Gilbertsville; 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Mildred was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth (Levengood) Robinson.

Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 423 Main Street, Oley, PA. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
