Mildred E. Schaeffer

Mildred E. (Kerr) Schaeffer, 84, died of natural causes November 1st at 11:00 pm in her Bern Township residence.

She was the wife of Harry L. Schaeffer.

Born in Virginville, she was a daughter of the late George A. and Eva (Zettlemoyer) Kerr.

She attended Perry High School.

Schaeffer was a self-employed beautician for 60 years, retiring in 1991.

She was a member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Richmond Township.

Schaeffer was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at both Lyons and Kutztown Fire Companies.

She is also survived by two daughters, Janice (Schaeffer) wife of George Mills of Rehoboth, Delaware and Nancy (Schaeffer) wife of Marlin Hunsicker of Tilden Township.

Other survivors include a brother, Warren Kerr of Virginville and two sisters, Marian (Kerr) Sheipe of Reading and Mary (Kerr) DeLong of Hamburg.

There are also three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale. Rev. MaryAnn Hamm officiating. Viewings Sunday 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Monday 9:30 am until time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Zion Moselem Cemetery, Richmond Township.
