Mildred Elaine O'Neill

Mildred "Millie" E. O'Neill, 91, passed away on April 15, 2025 at Berks Heim. Born in Reading, she was one of eleven children born to William and Rosella (Ehrig) Kase. Millie was the spouse of James O'Neill, with whom she shared fifty six years of marriage until his passing in 2008.

Millie graduated from Reading High School in 1951 and devoted herself to nurturing her family throughout her life. As the kids grew up she found her way into the working world. Her coworkers at Izod became her dear friends. Her last position as lunch lady at Cornwall Terrace Elementary was her favorite.

Her faith was her life compass and she was a lifelong member of St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church in Reading.

Millie loved family trips to the beach, especially Avalon and Rehoboth Beach and Saturday night dinner and dancing at Riveredge with her Jimmy. Together, Millie and Jimmy made the perfect dance partners and life partners.

Millie is survived by her children: Francis P. O'Neill (Cindy), of Sinking Spring, Shawn O'Neill (Lisa), of Lake Wynonah, Donna Giardiello (John), of Mount Penn, Kasey Bowers (Todd), of Pinehurst, NC. and Bruce Marcus of Silver Spring, MD spouse of Deborah. Lovingly known as "Grammy", she will be deeply missed by her eight grandchildren: Brendon, Todd, Gina, Kevin, Eric, James, Laura and Kathryn. Her ten great-grandchildren will also miss their "GG".

She was predeceased by her parents, daughter, Deborah Johnston, and her siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 10AM at St. Margaret Roman Catholic Church, 925 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19601. Family and friends will be received from 9-10AM at the church. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
