Mildred M. Burkett

Mildred Margaret Burkett, 88, of Laureldale, died May 31, 2007 at 9:50 am in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been a patient since May 26th.

She was the wife of Walter William Burkett, whom she married January 24, 1942.

Born June 19, 1918 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Frank B. and Elizabeth L. (Stark) Weikel.

She was a 1936 graduate of Reading Catholic.

Mildred was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Hyde Park.

She is also survived by a daughter, Laraine M. wife of Timothy Hagans of Spring Township.

Other survivors include a sister, Erma widow of Earl Moll of Mohnton.

There are also two grandchildren, Jennifer L. Daniels of Spring Township and Robert R. Daniels III of Cranston, RI.

She was predeceased by three siblings; Frank Weikel, Edgar Weikel Sr., and Edith Bricker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Hyde Park. A viewing will be held Wednesday 8:30 - 9:30 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
