Migdalia (Rodríguez) Torres, 74, of Reading, PA, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born January 21, 1951, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, to the late Angel Luis Rodríguez and Alicia Negrón, Migdalia, known affectionately as "Miggy" led a life filled with love, joy, unwavering dedication to those around her.
Miggy was the beloved wife of Louis Torres, with whom she celebrated 55 years of marriage. Together, they shared a lifetime of memories, and she considered him not only her husband, but also her best friend. Throughout her life, Miggy was known for her kindness, warmth, and ability to make everyone feel loved. She had a heart full of compassion, especially for children. Her devotion to taking care of infants was evident throughout her career, which she dedicated to child care until her retirement in 2013.
In addition to her work, Miggy was passionate about many things. She loved music, dancing, and the outdoors. Her soul truly came alive when she was at the beach, especially in her beloved Puerto Rico. However, it was her love for tennis that stood out as her undeniable passion. Miggy enjoyed the sport not only for the game itself but for the camaraderie and fun it brought into her life. Above all, Miggy's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She cherished every moment with her children, grandchildren, and especially with Louie. The bond they shared was unbreakable, filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories.
She will be remembered for her infectious laughter, and her ability to bring warmth and light to every room she entered. Miggy's presence will be profoundly missed, but her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
Miggy is survived by her loving husband Louie Torres, their three children: Louis Jr. Torres, Bruce Torres, and his wife Meredith Torres, Michele Rodríguez, and her husband Juan Rodríguez. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Mishka Torres, Eva Torres, Serafina Torres, Natalie Rodríguez, Sean Rodríguez, Isiah Rodríguez, Benjamin Rodríguez, Lucas Rodríguez, and Olivia Rodríguez; and her siblings: José, Carmen, Aida Luz, Terry, Gerry, Sheila, Judy, Sandy, Angela, Alex, and Lourdes, along with many, many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
