Michele L. Tucci

Michele Louise (Ciriaco) Tucci, 62, was pronounced dead of natural causes February 21, 2011 at 8:10 pm in her Muhlenberg Township residence.

She was the wife of Victor Joseph Tucci, who she married July 17, 1971.

Born June 16, 1948 in Reading, PA., she was a daughter of Jean Elizabeth (Toberman) Ciriaco of Muhlenberg Township and the late Dr. Samuel Edward Ciriaco.

She was a 1966 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 1971 graduate of Kutztown University, where she received a B.S. in elementary education.

Michele began her career as a teacher at 13th and Union in the Reading School District. After taking time off to raise her children, she was a substitute teacher for the Muhlenberg School District. She later worked as the office manager for her brother, Dr. Michael A. Ciriaco for 10 years, before leaving to take a position with the Wyomissing Optometric Center. Michele ended her career as the secretary for the Muhlenberg Township Police Department, retiring in 2008.

She was a council member of the Temple Borough, where she also served as President during the 1990s.

Living for her family, Michele had a very generous heart and loved entertaining and celebrating with family and friends. The holidays always held a special place in her heart because of time spent with her family.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband and loved being anywhere near the water. Michele's favorite spot was sitting on the deck of her oceanfront condo in Myrtle Beach with a Danielle Steel novel in hand, while listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean.

Michele is also survived by two children: Justin D., husband of Beth A. (Quintavalle) Tucci of Myrtle Beach, SC and Christi J. (Tucci), wife of Eric B. Burkholder of Spring Township.

Other survivors include two siblings: Deborah J. (Ciriaco), wife of Robert Westerholm of Eloy, Arizona and Patricia A. (Ciriaco) Boccagno of McKinney, Texas.

She was predeceased by a brother, Dr. Michael A. Ciriaco, who died September 16, 2010.

Michele will be greatly missed by all of the lives she's touched.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 3:00 pm in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 pm until time of services.
