Michele (Homcha) Green, 73, passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2025 at the Reading Hospital.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Kattner).
After studying at Kutztown University she discovered her love of caring and serving others through nursing at the Reading Hospital in the cardiac care unit.
As a devoted member of St. Ignatius Loyola, Michele was honored to serve as an usher and was truly loved by the congregation. Her unwavering faith shone brightly in every aspect of her life. Michele lived by example, sharing God's love through kindness, compassion, and an unyielding trust in His plan.
In her free time, she enjoyed working in the garden and watching the animals that came across her yard, most of all the family of deer that visited her regularly. She loved spending time with her family, especially making memories with her grandchildren.
Michele was incredibly selfless. She was passionate about making sure that her friends and family were taken care of at all times. Michele had a smile and laugh that expressed pure joy. She gave hugs that made any problems melt away, even just for that moment.
Those cherishing Michele’s memory are her children: Jonathan Green, Andrew Green, and Joseph Green ( Sarah), and her grandchildren: Landon, Brenna, Adelyn, Jacoby and Ellianna; as well as her siblings: Marie Kaminskas, and Michael Homcha.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 2600 St. Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19609, with burial to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:30 until the beginning of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michele’s honor to the Red Creek Wildlife Center at 300 Moonhill Dr, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611 is honored to serve Michele’s family. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
