Michael J. Wixon

Michael J. Wixon, 75, of Brecknock Twp., died June 11, 2012, in Reading Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Raymond S. and Margaret M. (Gruber) Wixon.

He worked at Wixon's Bakery for 34 years retiring in 1988 as co-owner. Michael also co-owned Penn-Cecil House from 1981 to 1987.

Michael was a coin collector and loved antiques. He also enjoyed golf and football. A NASCAR enthusiast, Wixon's Bakery sponsored Kenny Brightbill at Reading Fairgrounds.

He was a loving father of Lorraine M., wife of Donald B. Ford, with whom he resided; Catherine M., widow of James L. Sweitzer, West Lawn; Michele M., wife of P. Harris Brannen, Wyomissing; Raymond M., fiance of Terri Kline, Kenhorst; and Andrea L. Bieber, West Lawn. Michael was the adoring grandfather of, Alex Stone, Tara Sweitzer, Brandi Sweitzer, Mckenzie V. Ford, Taylor W. Ford, Aaron M. Bieber, Carlie E. Bieber and Michael Brannen. Three siblings, Maryanne Webber, in Virginia, Gerald H. Wixon, Reading and Margaret M. Wixon, Womissing also survive him.
