Michael S. Veet, 88, of North Race Street, Middletown, Dauphin County, formerly of Penn Avenue, Wyomissing, died July 20 at 4:40 p.m. in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, Cumberland County, where he had been a patient since July 7.
He was the husband of Elizabeth L. (Degatis) Veet.
Born in Hazleton, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late Anthony and Angeline (Scatton) Veet.
Veet was employed for 25 years as both a mechanic and inspector by Olmstead Air Force Base, Middletown. He was later employed by the federal government as a quality assurance representative for defense contracts in Reading for 14 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.
Veet was a 1932 graduate of Hazleton High School.
He was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3105.
Veet is also survived by a son, Michael A., Middletown; and two daughters, Arlene E. (Veet) Meter, Shillington; and Linda A. Veet, Middletown.
There are also five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
