He was 66 years old. Mike was the husband of Yvonne (Balthaser) Setley, with whom he shared his life since August 8, 2008. Mike's legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born in Reading, Mike was the son of the late Bernard and Lucy (Santoro) Setley. Mike attended high school at Governor Mifflin graduating in 1975, and during this time he was active in the Boy Scouts, earning the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. Following high school, he embarked on an impressive academic journey, graduating from Lebanon Valley College and thereafter Dickinson Law School, where he excelled and earned his law degree magna cum laude, finishing at the top of his class. Mike first attended Lebanon Valley College as a saxophone player with the intent of becoming a music teacher; however, following college, Mike transitioned to a career in the law, first serving as a probation officer prior to attending law school. Mike's legal career focused on municipal and bond law, and he was widely respected as an accomplished attorney in these fields, among others. Throughout his professional journey, he provided his expertise as a solicitor for various organizations, including the Boyertown Water Authority, Muhlenberg Twp., Lower Alsace Twp., Cumru Twp., Berks County Industrial Development Authority, and Wernersville Municipal Authority.

Additionally, Mike was one of the Founders of Concord Public Financial Advisors, established in 1997, and one of the Founders of the law firm Georgeadis || Setley, established in 2007. He was the longest serving Chair of the Reading Airport Authority, a distinction he was proud to hold.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike treasured the time spent with his children, siblings, and extended family. He found great delight in bringing everyone together, whether it was organizing "SetFest," sending his iconic holiday cards, or simply preparing a meal himself. His family and friends were the center of his universe, and their happiness brought him immeasurable joy.
Known for his deep friendships, he would often call his loved ones at any hour just to tell them he loved them. Mike's caring nature was his desire to connect with others on a profound level. Mike was an enormous presence throughout Berks County and held a very special place in so many hearts because of his remarkable generosity of spirit.
Animals held a special place in his heart, and he derived great joy from the companionship of his beloved cats. Mike also loved to travel, frequently to Ocean City and Somers Point in New Jersey and St. Pete in Florida, where he created countless cherished memories with family and friends. He and Yvonne frequently made trips to their special spot, Nantucket. He was a devout supporter of all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles. He would want everyone to remember that they recently won the Super Bowl. Mike enjoyed several social organizations, with Clover Park Athletic Association, among many others, being a special place for him to enjoy time with friends.
