Michael J. Reilly Jr., former West Reading tavern owner and White Flyer champion, died of natural causes Sept. 29 at 2:40 p.m. in his residence in West Reading.

Reilly, 71, was the owner of the Third & Spruce Cafe, West Reading, from 1960 to 1974 and 1983 to 1986.

He was the founder and owner of West Reading Distributing from 1974 to 1983.

Reilly was also the operator of Mike Reilly's Tavern in West Reading.

He was the Berks County White Flyer double barrel champion in 1964 and 1976.

Reilly also captured the Great Eastern and Grand American White Flyer championships.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Michael J. and Bridget (Piersody) Reilly.

Reilly was 1950 graduate of West Reading High School.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

There are no immediate survivors.

Graveside services will be private in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
