Michael O. Formicone, 64, passed away on January 25th at the Mifflin Center, Cumru Township.
He was the husband of Victoria K. (Minot) Formicone.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Joseph and Carolyn Fabriziani.
He graduated from West Reading High School in 1960. In 1969, he graduated from DeVry Institute of Technology and attended Penn State University.
Michael worked as a Project Tradesman for Agere for 38 years until his retirement in 2002.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.
Michael was on the Executive Board for Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a member of the West Reading High School basketball teams which won both the 1958-1959 and 1959- 1960 state championship "C" titles. He was a member of varsity football, baseball and track teams at West Reading High School. Michael was also President of the Athletic Association of West Reading High School in both 1959 and 1960.
He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey M. husband of Paige Formicone, Reinholds, and Gregory M. Formicone, West Wyomissing and one daughter, Stephanie M. (Formicone) wife of Falco DiBiase, Jr., Sinking Spring.
He is also survived by three sisters, Dolores (Formicone) Hyneman, Kenhorst, Dianna (Formicone) Pease, Kenhorst, and Sandra (Formicone) Rossi, Sinking Spring.
There are also two grandchildren, Bailey Formicone and Evan DiBiase.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
