Michael E. Misterkiewicz

Michael E. Misterkiewicz III, 14, Mohrsville, died of natural causes after a long illness on January 11th at 4:08 a.m. in Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he had been since December 28, 2005.

Born in Silver Spring, MD, he was a son of Michael E. and Kathleen M. (Welsh) Misterkiewicz, Mohrsville.

He was an eighth grade student at Wilson Central Junior High School.

He was a recipient of the 1999 Young Heroes Award given by WVPT public television in Harrisonburg, VA. Michael was also featured in an article, "Michael's Smile" in the Reading Eagle in December 2000. The article focused on Michael's illness.

Michael was a member of St. Francis deSales Roman Catholic Church, Robesonia.

He is also survived by one sister Anmarie Christina, at home.

Other survivors include paternal grandparents, Michael E. Sr. and Linda M. (Pino) Misterkiewicz, Bernville; maternal grandparents Robert J. and Jennie K. (Middlebrooks) Welsh, Natrona Heights , PA; and a paternal great-grandmother Ida C. (Elia) Pino, Coconut Creek , FL.

He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Francis deSales R.C.C, Robesonia. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Michael E. Misterkiewicz III Fund at M & T Bank, 2715 N. Meridian Blvd. Wyomissing, PA 19610, to be distributed to charities that helped Michael during his life. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, is in charge of the arrangements.
