Michael S. Kennedy

Michael S. Kennedy, 66, of Womelsdorf (formerly of Wyomissing), passed away on October 3, 2021, at his residence. Born in Danville, PA, to Joy (Peterson) of Princeton, NJ, and the late Walter Kennedy, he attended Westminster school in Connecticut. He then graduated with a BA in economics from Gettysburg College in 1977 and completed two post-graduate programs in benefits and retirement plans at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Mike has been in the financial services business since 1977, holding various management, sales, consulting and administrative positions with Wachovia, Meridian Bank, and American Bank. Most recently he founded the Kennedy Group at Merrill Lynch and served as a senior financial advisor and vice president.

Michael is survived by Leda Kennedy (Noecker), his loving wife of 44 years, as well as his loving children, daughter Alexandra M. Litrenta and son-in-law Nicholas C. Litrenta of Wyomissing, and son Nicholas M. Kennedy and fiancé Jessica Wade of Robesonia. He is also survived by his in-laws, Martha and Ronald Noecker of West Reading. He was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend to many. He will be dearly missed.

Michael was one of the founders of the Wyomissing Area Basketball Club and coached youth basketball, soccer and baseball. He loved collecting Lionel trains, playing guitar, and home improvement projects. He also served as the president of the Rho Beta Fraternity at Gettysburg College.
