Michael J. Kase

Michael J. Kase, 25, of Manhattan, NY, passed away February 7, 2016 at the Lenox Health Plex, New York, NY.

Born in Reading, he was a son of Michael and Kathy (Haggerty) Kase, Sinking Spring.

He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the University of Delaware and a graduate of Wilson high School

Michael was a member of the St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

He worked as a Product Engineer for Sonneman Lighting and Design, NY.

Michael was passionate about every aspect of his life, but most notably he was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan, amazing guitarist, speedy skier, avid traveler, and very very serious OAR fan. He was a meticulous designer who loved his work and building anything he could dream up. Anyone who knew Mike knows that he cherished everyone he met and lit up every room he entered with his positivity, kindness, and laughter.

He had many family and friends who loved him dearly and will truly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Tamara Kase; paternal grandparents: Arthur Kase and Marjorie, wife of Bill Shirey; his maternal grandmother, Ann Haggerty; two aunts: Patricia, wife of Dennis Bender and Ann Marie, wife of Jim Hayek; two uncles: Kevin, husband of Suzanne Haggerty and Kevin, husband of Elizabeth Kase; seven cousins: Rory, husband of Kristen Bender; Joseph Haggerty; Leanne Haggerty; James Haggerty; Sarah Haggerty; Megan Bender and Caitlyn Hayek; and the love of his life, Taylor Kelly. He is also survived by his extensive New York City family of ChelseaU.

Michael was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Joseph Haggerty.

A Memorial Service will be Friday at 3 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will be private. Friends may call Friday from 12 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
