Michael P. Hanley

Michael P. Hanley, 65, of Wyomissing, passed away July 9, 2024, at the Columbia Cottage after a long and courageous battle with his health.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Michael A. and Mary C. (Sheerin) Hanley.

He was a 1977 graduate of Holy Name High School and attended Penn State Mont Alto.

Michael was employed as a machinist for The Polymer Corporation / Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials Inc, retiring in 2001.

Michael had a passion for dogs throughout his life, and lovingly cared for his 6 dogs (Jake, Murphy, Clancy, Hershey, Semper and Brody). Michael was an avid guitar player who loved Blue Grass music. Additionally, he found joy in hiking the Appalachian Trail and exploring the great outdoors.

He is survived by five siblings: Maureen E. Bucci, Harleysville, PA, Kathleen M., wife of Peter Hamilton, Lewes, DE, Dr. Patrick J., husband of Viki (Cole) Hanley, Lehighton, PA, Eileen M., wife of Richard Marando, Mohrsville, PA, and Dr. Terrance P., husband of Rhonda (Ermentrout) Hanley. Shillington, PA. Michael is also survived by thirteen loving nieces and nephews.

At Michael's request, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N 11th St. Reading, PA 19604. Edward J.
