Michael J Geibel

Michael J. Geibel, 85, of Mohnton, passed away on March 17, 2023 at Reading Hospital. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late John and Jennie (Andrunik) Geibel and the loving husband of Jane (Geisinger) Geibel for 59 years.

A 1955 graduate of Gov. Mifflin High School, Michael joined the U.S. Air Force. He played basketball for Mohnton and Gov. Mifflin High School, and loved most sports. He worked for Gulf Oil on the Turnpike for 16 years and then worked as a toll collector for the PA Turnpike until his retirement in 1998.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children; Dianne L. Lee (Marc) of Shippensburg, Nancy J. Badinger (Wayne), of Blandon, and Steven M. Geibel (Milagros) of St. Lawrence, four grandchildren; Amanda Badinger, Adam Badinger, Daniel Lee, Rachel Lee, one great-grandchild, Gabriel Osting, and many cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 11 am at St. James Reading City Church, 644 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611. A visitation will begin at 10 am until the time of service. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Please wear sports team t-shirts and baseball hats to the service.
