Michael Patrick Duddy, 66, of Spring Township, died April 9, 2013 in Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia after a courageous four month battle with cancer.
He was married August 2, 1969 to Sandra Ann (Sfameni) Duddy.
Born in Reading, PA on October 30, 1946, he was a son of the late William Joseph and Ruth Ann (Brophy) Duddy.
He was a 1964 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 1968 graduate of Notre Dame University. He was very proud that his three children were able to share that same alma mater.
He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.
Michael was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
He was employed for 17 years as a sales representative with Stauffer Glove and Safety, Red Hill, last working on Friday.
Family, Faith and Notre Dame were the three things closest to his heart.
Michael always lived by the phrase, "quiet confidence and simple pleasures".
He always looked forward to the family vacations at the beach.
Michael is also survived by three children: Michael P. II, husband of Susan R. (Rado) Duddy of Wyomissing; Shannah (Duddy), wife of Nicholas L. Rockwell of Lancaster and Matthew J., husband of Kristy (Mason) Duddy of Clifton Park, New York.
Other survivors include four siblings: Terrence D. Duddy of Torrence, California, Colleen M. (Duddy), wife of Philip LaScala of Bern Township, Denise M. (Duddy), wife of Frederick Mogel of Wyomissing and Sheila M. Duddy of Minneapolis.
There are also ten grandchildren: Michael J. Duddy, Giavinna G. Duddy, Sophia G. Rockwell, Isabella R. Duddy, William S. Rockwell, Nicholas G. Rockwell, Matthew J. Duddy II, Mason M. Duddy, Amelia J. Rockwell and Dylan P. Duddy.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 13th at 11:00 am in St. Ignatius R.C. Church, 2500 St. Albans Drive, Whitfield.
There will be no public viewing. Burial was private in Gethsemane Cemetery.
