Michael R. Desantis

Michael R. DeSantis, 71, died March 17, 2015 in his Lower Alsace Township residence.

He was the husband of Cleopatra (Skias) DeSantis.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of Luigi and Lucy (Sturgis) DeSantis.

He was a graduate of Wilson High School in 1961; Shippensburg University in 1970 and he received his Masters Degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana in 1971.

Michael was a US Army veteran, serving 2 1/2 years in Germany.

He was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Christian L. DeSantis, Lower Alsace Twp.

Michael was predeceased by his three siblings: Mary Ann Bensing; Barbara Ann Rossi; and Stephen DeSantis.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 101 Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. in the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 498 East Bellevue Avenue, Reading, PA 19605; or St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church at the above address.
