Michael A. Decusatis

Michael A. DeCusatis, 88, West Reading, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016, in the Mifflin Court Assisted Living Center, Shillington, PA.

Born on July 10, 1927, in Hazleton, PA., he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Marsicano) DeCusatis.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marie (DeAngelo) DeCusatis, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.

Michael was involved in the grocery business during his entire working career and was a proprietor of Deke's Market in West Reading. His family was very important to him and he loved being with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and was their biggest fan as they participated in various sports.

Michael was a graduate of Hazleton High School and was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the USS Baltimore during World War II.

He is survived by his two sons: Michael A., husband of Lynann, Wyomissing; and David J., husband of Debra, Mt. Pleasant , South Carolina. Four grandchildren: Jennifer M., Sinking Spring; Devon J., wife of Kevin, Athens, Georgia; Dustin J., husband of Heather, San Diego, California and Lauren M., Wyomissing; and three great-grandchildren: Tyrus, Cali and Adalina also survive him.

Michael was predeceased by his two sisters, Elmyra and Valeria.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
