Merri M. Bengston

Merri Bengtson, 97, passed away on March 11, 2026 in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.

Merri loved art, and was a well known portrait artist in her community. She taught classes at the Wyomissing Institute for years, and juried numerous art shows. She studied art at the Philadelphia College of Art and attended a myriad of renowned artist's workshops.

She was married to Frank Woolley for 51 years, and in her golden years, was married for nine years to Allyn Bengtson, who she met at The Highlands of Wyomissing retirement community.
She spent most of her life in Port Washington, Long Island, New York, and in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania.

She was predeceased by her son Jeffrey James Woolley in 2004, and by her two husbands.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Mara, daughter-in-law, Cheryl Woolley, and three stepdaughters, Betsy Bengtson, Alice Brewer and Beverly Hill.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Highlands of Wyomissing Cultural Center, 2000 Cambridge Ave, Wyomissing PA 19610. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
