Melvin P. Lutz

Melvin Paul Lutz, 84, of Sinking Spring, passed away in his home on Monday, April 21, 2014.

He was born to the late John Lutz & Florence Lutz (Holtzman) April 22nd 1929 in Reading, PA. Melvin married the late Ruth Lutz (Kimmel) in 1951.

Melvin was part owner of John A. Lutz & Sons Inc., where he worked as a farmer. He served in the US Army from 1950-1951. He and his wife Ruth were members of St. John's Lutheran Church of Sinking Spring. They were also members of the Green Valley Country Club where they enjoyed many hours dancing the night away.

Melvin is survived by three children: Kevin Lutz husband of Deborah Lutz, of Reading, PA, Melanie Palubicki, of West Chester, PA, and Kurt Lutz husband of Heather Lutz, of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by three brothers: Arthur Lutz husband of Marion Lutz, Wilber Lutz husband of Pat Lutz, and Dallas Lutz husband of the late Colleen Lutz. He was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers. His grandchildren are Tara Lutz Miller, Thomas Lutz, Tracie Lutz, Kyle Palubicki, Jessica Palubicki, and Jason Palubicki. His great-grandchildren include Briana Moschak, Kiersten Moschak, Kelsey Moschak, Trevor Moschak, Keegan Miller, and Devin Kline.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made out to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.

A viewing will be held at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading on Sunday April 27th from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM and on Monday morning April 28th from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with services to follow at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Sinking Spring.
