Melvin S. Lonergan, Sr., 82 Tilden Township died January 26 in the Schuylkill Medical Center East. He was the husband of Verna E. (Adam) Lonergan who died April 26, 2007. Melvin was born in Tilden Township and was the son of the late James M. and Cora E. (Turner) Lonergan. He was self employed as the owner and operator of Lonergan's Septic Service for 60 years. He was an Army veteran of WWII. Melvin is survived by his two sons, Todd J. Lonergan, Port Clinton and Melvin Lonergan, Jr., New Ringgold, two stepsons, Daryl Fry, Tilden Township and Tim Fry, New Ringgold and five grandchildren, James A. Lonergan, Damian L. Lonergan, Alicia L. Ebeneer, Kearstan M. Lonergan and Ryan T. Lonergan. Private graveside services will be held in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Township. The Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
