Mayedel G. (DaSilva) Hill, 82, passed away May 24, 2009 in her Wyomissing residence.

Her husband, Kenneth J. Hill, died September 24, 2001.

Born in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, she was a daughter of the late Antone and Theresa (Kapiko) DaSilva.

She was a graduate of McKinley High School, Honolulu where she was crowned Queen of the Hawaiian Court. She attended McDowell Dress Design School, NY, NY. Mayedel was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors.

Mayedel was employed for many years with the Lexington Hotel, New York City where she was a hula dancer in the Hawaiian Room and with a traveling dance company. She was also employed as a seamstress with Simplicity Patterns, N.Y. City.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

Mayedel is survived by her son, Kenneth J. Hill, Jr., Temple; and her three daughters, Valerie Hill Fisher, wife of Ronald D. Fisher, Temple, Beverly I. Hill, Wyomissing and Loretta Hill Imbody, wife of Kevin J. Imbody, Wernersville. There is also her brother, Dale A. DaSilva, Burbank, CA and her two sisters, Lydie (DaSilva) Larson, Truckee,CA and Germaine (DaSilva) Mangin. Three grandchildren, Hilary and Ryder Fisher and Ian Imbody also survive her.

She was predeceased by one sister, Marilyn Tebo.

Prayer Service will be private for family on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Family may visit Saturday 10-10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 13067 Alexandera, VA. 22312 .
