May A. Lafaver

May A. LaFaver, 99, of Shoemakersvile, passed away on August 14, 2022, at Maidencreek Place, Reading.

She was born in Centre Township and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Ethel (Delong) Hoffman. May graduated from Perry High School in 1940. She was very active with St. Luke's Church, Virginville Grange, and the Reading Hospital Auxiliary.

May worked in the cafeteria for the Hamburg School District before retiring in 1986. After retiring she did a lot of traveling, sewing and crafts.

May is survived by her two loving children, John Ide (Joanne), and Linda Perry (King); three grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leroy LaFaver, and one great grandchild.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Hamburg with interment to follow at St. Michael's Union Cemetery, Hamburg. The visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
