Mattie L. Bender

Mattie L. Bender, 100 formerly of Hamburg and Riverview Park died June 29 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Township. Her husbands, Stanley Kunsman and Ralph R. Bender, predeceased her. She was born in Sugar Hollow, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Frank S. and Ida V. (Via) James. Mattie was the owner-operator of Society Cleaners for over 50 years retiring in 1982. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg and a lifetime member of Blue Mountain O.E.S. Chapter 443. A son Richard A. Kunsman, Riverview Park, granddaughter, Michele wife of Michael Cramer, Sinking Spring, a great-granddaughter, Meghan and a sister Evvie F. James, Mohrsville, survives Mattie. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 PM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service.
