Matthew Schaefer

Matthew Owen Schaefer, 62, passed away September 30, 2014 in his Muhlenberg Township residence.

Born in Temple, he was a son of the late William O. and Mary M. (Brunner) Schaefer.

A graduate of Muhlenberg High School, Matt was employed with Windsor Service for over 10 years and retired from Carpenter Technology in 2012, where he was employed for 22 years.

Matt was an avid hunter and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, racing, cars and golfing.

Surviving are his son, Chad B. Schaefer, at home; his two brothers, Forrest C. Schaefer of Holton, MO and Michael W. Schaefer of Mission, KS; his two sisters, Lynda A. Schaefer of Temple and Paula L. Schaefer of Muhlenberg Township.

Also surviving is his former spouse, Aleta L.H. Schaefer of Reading, and many nieces and nephews.

Matt was predeceased by his three brothers: Dufred, Kenneth and Spencer Schaefer.

A Memorial Service will be Monday at 12 noon in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA 19605. A viewing will be held from 11:30 until noon. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
