Matilda O. Reuther

Matilda "Mattie" O. Reuther, 93, formerly of West Lawn and Columbia Cottage, died July 23, 2007 in Berks Heim where she had been since April 30, 2007.

Her husband, Harold Henry L. Reuther, died December 15, 1967.

Born in Aliquippa, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Maria (Demko) Balog.

At the age of 1 she was taken to live in Czechoslovakia, returning to the United States in March of 1938. A true patriot, she valued and respected Berks County and the U.S. flag.

She was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Reuther is survived by her son, Ernst Robert Lang Reuther, Reading; and her daughter, Christina G. wife of Donald L. Matthews, Chester Springs. Three grandchildren, Nancy Simpson, Erik Reuther and D. Joshua Matthews; and two great grandchildren also survive her. She was predeceased by 6 siblings.

Services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Ave. West Lawn, PA 19609. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the church. Contributions may be made to West Lawn United Methodist Church Building Fund at the above address. Edward J.
