Marylou Galanos

Marylou Galanos, 86, of Reading, died April 26, 2014 in ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township.

Born January 18, 1928 in York, PA, she was a daughter of the late Constantine Augustus and Irene Daisy (Greene) Galanos.

Marylou was employed as a waitress with West Reading Hotel for 32 years. She loved waiting tables and always enjoyed the customers.

A loving and caring mother, Marylou enjoyed spending her time with her sisters, enjoyed family picnics and reunions.

She loved going to Brigantine, NJ and casinos. She also loved playing cards with family and friends, horse racing and she loved to dance.

Surviving are her sons, Theodore B. "Ted", husband of Ruth Galanos of Sinking Spring and Gregory F. Galanos of Hayes, VA.

Also surviving are her four siblings: Christ Galanos of Wernesville; Fay Shupp of Shillington; Antonia Roeder of Shillington and Evelyn Ziats of Reading.

There are also seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren surviving.

Marylou was predeceased by her brother, Fred Galanos and her sister Kiraike "Kitty" Parzanese.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
