MaryAnn J. (Urso) Pawlewicz, born July 20, 1941, daughter of the late Frank C. Urso and Martha M. (Walters) Urso, went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2026, surrounded by her family. MaryAnn has been widowed since age 48. Surviving are her two children, Steve Pawlewicz of Reading and Teresa Pawlewicz of NY; her five grandchildren, Jordan, Zackary, Drew, Mandy, and Jonathan; and five great grandchildren, Scarlett, Richard, Addison, Samuel, and soon to be Koda.
MaryAnn had the fortune of growing up with two families, playing with the loving Goodwin cousins; together, they could be found occupying the second level at the Hillside pool. She was the oldest remaining Urso in the family, now handing off the duties to her close childhood cousin, Jerry Assetto from Ridge, NY.
After graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1959, she attended McCann Business School. Her career spanned many decades working with special needs children at Northeast Jr. High and BCIU, and later as a customer service rep at Ehrlichs. In retirement some of the highlights in her life included: working at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming; a memorable family trip to Italy in 2008; and several trips to Aruba. MaryAnn had a passion for sports and loved watching her grandchildren play sports. She coached girls basketball for years at St Joe's in Reading, PA. Every day one could find her in front of the TV watching any and all Philadelphia sports teams while creating lovely art, and always finding a way to make another's day a little brighter by presenting a crafted gift or drawing. She was also a person of deep faith, always praying for anyone in need.
MaryAnn was one of six children. She was pre-deceased by her sister Judith (Urso) Snyder. Surviving are her brothers, James Urso, wife Regina, from Reading, PA; Jeffrey Urso, wife Kathy, from Lansdale, PA; Frank Urso, wife Patty, from Downingtown, PA; and Christopher Urso, wife Colette, from Manchester, NJ.
Her Facebook page will remain open for posts, favorite pictures, and short stories about how MaryAnn impacted your life.
