Mary E. Williams

Mary E. (Bacastow) Williams, 97, of Wyomissing, died April 5, 2012, in Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Her husband, Warren D. Williams, died on September 5, 1981. They were married on December 31, 1941.

Born in East Hanover Township, she was the daughter of the late Clayton Bacastow and Anna (Uhrich) Bacastow Bennethum. She was the step-daughter of the late Robert Bennethum.

She was a 1932 graduate of Wilson High School.

Mary was most recently employed at Shillington Market. She had previously been an employee of the former Berkshire Knitting Mills.

She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church since its inception.

Mary had been a long time member of the Eastern Star. She also was a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann, wife of Barry C. Weitzel, Spring Township; her niece, Cheryl Leidy and two nephews, Dennis Bacastow and James Dojan.

Mary was predeceased by her brother, Paul D. Bacastow.

Services will be Wednesday at noon in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
