Mary A. Varone

Mary A. (Sedoti) Varone of Exeter Township died December 5, 2012, in Mifflin Center where she had been since October 5, 2012

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Anthony, Sr., and Angelina (Ferris) Sedoti.

Mary was employed as a sales associate in women's apparel from 1956 to 2010 at the former Pomeroy's Department Store now the Bon Ton store. She worked there until shortly before her 90th birthday. As many people who knew her at work, you often heard her before you saw her in the store. Her infectious laughter was a trade mark. She was truly one of the old school sales staff who actually assisted her customers with their purchase.

Mary is survived by two sons, Lawrence A. Varone and Steven S. Varone of Exeter Township and three siblings, brother Eugene, wife of Dawn Sedoti, Exeter Township and her two sisters Antoinina Sedoti, Cumru Township, and Josephine , wife of Russell Magazzu, of Exeter Township.

There are also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three siblings, Anthony Sedoti, Jr, Charles Sedoti and Consetta Chinnici.

Mary had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She also loved spending time with her family. To her the family gatherings were always the best of times.

Her two sons were her pride and joy. She truly was the lioness who protected her cubs. She was proud of them and always had the kindest of words for them. They will miss her the most.

A special thanks goes to the staff at the Mifflin Center who treated her with love, kindness and respect. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, 925 Centre Ave., Reading, PA 19601. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
