Mary R. Woerner Vandegrift

Mary R. (Adams) Woerner Vandegrift, 90, formerly of Temple, passed away September 14, 2010 in Berks Heim, Bern Township, where she had been a resident since April of 2005.

She was the wife of the late Ray N. Woerner who died in 1944 and Herbert C. Vandegrift who died June 7, 2008.

Born September 12, 1920 in Hyde Park, she was a daughter of the late Charles R. and Lulu (George) Adams.

Mary was employed as a packer with Meyers Canning for a number of years.

She was an active member of Muhlenberg Senior Citizen's Club for many years.

Surviving are three children: Marvin R., husband of Carol A. (Weaver) Woerner of Temple; Janet M. (Vandegrift), widow of James Cataldi, Sr. of Adamstown and Brenda (Woerner) Breneiser of Temple.

There are also three sisters surviving: Amelia (Adams) Levan of Spring Township; Rose Marie (Adams) Rutter of Glendale, AZ and Nora (Adams) Lyons of Harleysville.

Other survivors include four grandchildren: Bryon H. Woerner, James Cataldi, Jr., Carol L. Wessner and Susan L. Goodison and eight great-grandchildren.

Mary was predeceased by a brother, Charles G. Adams; two sisters, Maggie (Adams) Yerger and Irene (Adams) Fritzinger and a grandson, Brock J. Woerner.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
