Mary Anne Stitzel

Mary Anne (Kuhn) Stitzel, 60, formerly of 304 Wellington Avenue, Lincoln Park, died November 27th of Cancer at 8:15 am in her residence at 305 Charleston Lane, (Spring Township), Wyomissing, Pa 19610.

She was the wife of Richard A. Stitzel.

Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of Loretta C. (Boland) Kuhn a resident at the Highlands at Wyomissing and the late Edward J. Kuhn Sr., who died May 15, 1971.

She was a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Reading and a 1963 graduate of Gwynedd Mercy College, Montgomery County.

Stitzel was a member of St. John the Baptist de La Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

She was Co-Chairman of Extravaganza at Holy Name High School in 1986 and has chaired many aspects of the fundraiser for a number of years.

Stitzel worked for 31 years as a registered nurse at the former Community General Hospital, Reading until 1997.

She later worked for Exeter Surgery Center for six years before retiring in May 2003.

Stitzel is also survived by a son, Matthew J. husband of Rebecca J. (Simon) Stitzel of Spring Township and three daughters, Amy L. (Stitzel) wife of Brian K. Miller of Spring Township, Beth A. (Stitzel) wife of Patrick Donghia of State College and Meg B. (Stitzel) wife of Matthew Rosenberg of Columbia, Maryland.

Other survivors include a brother, Edward J. Kuhn Jr., of West Reading.

There are also nine grandchildren, Dustin S. Miller, Caitlyn K. Miller, Jack T. Miller, Sarah J. Stitzel, Jacob T. Stitzel, Ethan M. Stitzel, Matthew J. Stitzel, Grant C. Donghia, and Conner G. Donghia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 am in St. John the Baptist de La Salle Roman Catholic Church, 420 Holland Street, Shillington, Pa 19607. Viewing will be Friday from 4:00 - 9:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. No public viewing Saturday. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
