Mary Ellen Stauffer

Mary Ellen (Adams) Stauffer, 66, of Muhlenberg Township, died February 8, 2007 at 6:05 pm in Berks Heim, Bern Township, where she had been a resident since March 16th.

Born in Reading on November 19, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Eleanor (Protheroe) Adams.

She was a 1958 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and a graduate of Kutztown University with a B.S. in Elementary Education.

Mary Ellen was a teacher for 25 years, teaching 9 years in Oregon and 16 years in the Muhlenberg School District, retiring September 4, 2000.

She was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ, Temple.

Mary Ellen was a former member of the Sinking Spring Lions Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Amy L. (Stauffer) wife of Jason M. Pehlman of Temple and three sons, Kurt A. husband of Helen E. Stauffer of Seattle, Washington; Mark W. husband of Ann Marie D. Stauffer of Reinholds, Lancaster County and Eric L. husband of Wendy R. Stauffer of Portland, Oregon.

Other survivors include a brother and eight grandchildren, Julia, Garrett, Blake, Emily, Brynna, Triston, Jared and Aaron.

Memorial Services will be celebrated Saturday, February 17th at 10am in Christ Church United Church of Christ, 4870 Kutztown Road, Temple, with the Rev. Dr. Benjamin D. Motz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the church. Burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation, 225 N.
