Mary W. Smith

Mary W. Smith, 92, of West Lawn, died January 15, 2009 in the Reading Hospital.

Born in Coatesville on December 10, 1916, she was the daughter of the late William and Lois (Strope) Withrow.

She was a 1934 graduate of Fleetwood High School and a 1939 graduate of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for the Reading Hospital for 29 years, retiring in 1982.

Mary was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola RCC.

She is survived by two daughters: Lynda L., wife of Earl M. Bohanak, Wyomissing and Sharon M., wife of Les Oxenreider, West Lawn, with whom Mary resided. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Kelly Mason, Stacey Witman, Tara Oxenreider, Erik Kinder, and Megan Oxenreider. A great-grandson, Gaige Kinder, also survives her.
