Mary S. Deeter

Mary Salena Deeter, 100, of West Reading, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in the care of Spruce Manor. She was the widow of Earl (Mickey) W. Deeter, who passed away in 1996.

Mary was born February 24, 1925 in Atlantic City, NJ, to the late Charles R. and Mayme (Shoemaker) Gumpert. Mary graduated from Wilson High School in 1943.

From 1967 through 1977, Mary worked as a cashier at the West Reading Diner. Mary was kindhearted and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her grandson Robert Schon, his wife Kristine; a granddaughter Salena Smith, her husband Brad Smith; six great-grandchildren: Samantha Schon, Nate Schon, Taylor Schon, Landen Smith, Kayla Smith, and Alexa Smith; and great-great-granddaughter, Indigo Tharp.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosemary D. Schon, and great-granddaughter, Adelyn Marie Smith.
